Divorce financial analysis: search-demand check
Keep the idea in contention; test with attorneys before building or buying broad consumer traffic. People search for divorce financial professionals. We have not shown that they want software, trust automated output, or will pay $999 for it.
Collected September 17, 2026 UTC (September 16 in Los Angeles). U.S. and California, English, Google Search only; requested September 2025–August 2026. Cost: $0.36. No ads purchased.
What people search for
Provider-reported monthly search estimates; California is already inside the U.S. total. These rows overlap and must not be added into a customer count.
| Search | U.S./month | California/month | California estimated cost/click |
|---|---|---|---|
| forensic accountant divorce | 1,600 | 210 | $15.14 |
| divorce financial analyst | 390 | 50 | $13.08 |
| divorce financial planner | 1,900 | 170 | $25.81 |
| certified divorce financial analyst | 1,900 | 320 | $14.58 |
| divorce financial planning software | 10 | 10 | Unavailable |
| rsu divorce | 10 | 10 | Unavailable |
| california spousal support calculator | 2,900 | 2,400 | $1.49 |
The strongest lead is demand for professional help. A California accounting firm explicitly sells divorce accounting services, while the CDFA organization offers certification. That supports treating these searches as a mix of service shopping, learning, and career interest—not software buyers. This was a small web spot-check, not a measured breakdown of search intent. Accounting firm, CDFA certification.
The narrow product is not an established search category in this sample. “Divorce financial analysis software,” “divorce accounting software,” and “RSU divorce California” returned unavailable volume in both markets. “RSU divorce” returned 10/month in each. That weakens a search-led launch for the exact product; it does not disprove attorney demand.
Calculator traffic is a different offer. The 2,400 California spousal-support-calculator searches are attractive in size but do not establish demand for paid document analysis. DissoMaster and Xspouse also have brand searches; those are not automatically customers available to us.
Would paid search make money?
California “forensic accountant divorce” reports $15.14/click. At the proposed $999 per matter, the following are assumptions, not measured results:
| Scenario | Clicks becoming buyers | Ad cost/buyer | Delivery cost/matter | Left after ads and delivery |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Conservative | 1% | $1514.00 | $350.00 | $-865.00 |
| Middle | 2% | $757.00 | $200.00 | $42.00 |
| Optimistic | 5% | $302.80 | $100.00 | $596.20 |
Delivery assumptions include processing, fees, and human support/review. The remainder excludes acquisition labor, fixed overhead, tax, and profit allowance. The middle case leaves only $42: too thin to rely on. At a $200 delivery cost, advertising alone breaks even at about 1.9% purchase conversion for a $999 offer, 5.1% at $499, or 1.2% at $1,500. Prices remain proposals.
Scale is another constraint. Capturing even 10% of the 210 monthly California searches as clicks and converting 2% gives about 5 purchases/year from that one phrase. This is illustrative arithmetic, not a forecast. Other searches and channels matter; the search count is not a market-size estimate.
How it compares with the other ideas
On the same U.S. basis, this service phrase has 1,600 searches/month at $9.99/click, versus 170 at $30.63 for “SBOM software” and 170 at $26.81 for “accessibility monitoring” in the earlier September 7 study. Divorce has the larger, cheaper service-search signal—but the comparison is imperfect: professional-service intent differs from software intent, collection windows differ, and this offer is one-time rather than monthly. It has not earned a higher overall business ranking. Earlier study.
What to do next
- Test whether a few California family-law firms will pay for one source-linked support/RSU workup. Check delivery effort and whether they bring a second matter. This is the next experiment, not work already done.
- When Google Ads access is ready, replay the saved 46 keywords in both geographies and the same date window. Prioritize the missing child-support-calculator result and tiny-volume CPC outliers: $68.75 for “divorce financial analyst near me” and $97.99 for “forensic accounting software” in California.
- Keep spending on traffic on hold until the offer, price, delivery cost, and professional-review boundary are established. This keyword screen is not the full legal, competitor, or market-size assessment.
